Our Sigma Kappa founders left us with a lasting impression of the importance of philanthropy. Service is one of Sigma Kappa's founding values, and as such, members of Sigma Kappa support multiple philanthropic causes.
Ultra Violet Campaign
In the fall, Sigma Kappa gathers members of fraternities and sororities to participate in events throughout the week to raise money and awareness toward our philanthropies. We kick off the week with our Walk to End Alzheimers. Additionally we have a sports night and conclude with a game show styled event called Don't Forget the Lyrics where participants compete with one another. To support the Maine Seacoast Mission, we had participants donate canned goods to send over to Maine.
Walk to End Alzheimers
As part of our Ultra Violet Campaign, Sigma Kappa participates in the Walk to End Alzheimers at Mizner Park in Boca Raton. Leading up to the walk, participants raise money to help fund research in the disease and to show support and care for those suffering from Alzheimers. We invite other sororities and fraternities to walk with us in hopes to someday end Alzheimers.
Each semester sisters go a handful of times to the Volen Center in Boca Raton to show support and appreciation for the elderly.
In the spring, Sigma Kappa holds our pageant where fraternity gentlemen compete to win the title of Mr. PerfΣΚt. Throughout the week we have a sports night where fraternities compete in a flag football game tournament. In addition, we have a Meet the Sigma's night where fraternities get the opportunity to get to know us a little better. The week ends with a talent portion and the crowning of the new Mr. PerfΣΚt. This year Sigma Phi Epsilon were the winners of the pageant.
